Luke’s 3rd Birthday | Neverland Theme

January 24, 2018

I LOVE planning parties. There is something sooooo satisfying seeing my ideas come to life for my little boys. Luke didn’t ask for any theme in particular so I thought about words that describe him best. He is our little explorer who loves to be outside and our baby. I never want him to grow up and to always be our baby. With the prints from The Print Annex in the boys room, I decided that a Lost boys/Neverland theme would be perfect but with a Boheme twist.

My favourite part of the decor has to be the balloon garland. Guys, this was soooooooo super easy to do! I have seen these on Pinterest many times and thought they would be super difficult and time consuming but it wasn’t. I grabbed a few different shades of green and gold balloons in different sizes and blew them all up (a balloon pump is nice to use as well if you have one… the big balloons will leave you a little light headed after blowing them up lol). Once they are blown up, grab a long piece of thin ribbon and cut it to the length you would like. Then grab some clear jewellery wire (looks like fishing line) and tie one end to the balloon and the other tightly to the ribbon. Keep doing this and layer new shades while squishing them together to give the garland some depth. I also used scrapbooking dots at the ends to add on some extra balloons to hide the ends. Lastly, Command stripes will be your hero and save your walls from holes. You can see one in the first photo below on the right hand side for reference.

Blue, green, gold and natural bleached wood tones were the colour scheme which was given to Cuppy Cakes by Julie to do her magic. Seriously, I cannot say enough good things about her cakes, cookies and cupcakes. I have used Julie for a few years now and love her!

Pirate treasure, anchors and clear bottles to represent the Pirates.. Teepees, Feathers and a wooden horse to represent the Indians. Twinkle lights inside the bottles for Tink and of course stars!!!! We cant forget the lost boys (and girls) who were all of Lukey’s little friends who came to celebrate!

I hope this helps provide some fun inspiration for your next little ones party! Feel free to leave a comment below if you have any questions or if you want some help on ideas for your parties!

One of the games we played with the children was a pirate treasure hunt. The first clue was given to the kids that lead to the next clue. There was 10 clues hidden around our home and the kids had lots of laughs. It was super exciting and once they found the treasure, they got to fill their goodie bags up with gold necklaces, crystals and chocolate coins!
